It has just been announced that the rights to the James Bond series have been transferred to Amazon. The company will get the owner rights of this series. However Broccoli and Wilson who have owned the James Bond rights for over 60 years will have the co-owner rights however Amazon will have creative control of the James Bond franchise.

How this will affect the current James Bond series is still unknown and especially with IO Interactive's James Bond game in particular. This project was announced in 2020 the idea behind it is to create an origin story about James Bond. Considering Amazon also develops and publishes games itself, it is unknown if this acquisition will affect the game.
